South African Partners

Soroptimist International (SI) Pretoria

SI is a worldwide organization for professionals and those in management, working through service projects to advance human rights and the status of women and girls. SI Pretoria is a partner of Tateni since 2000 and supports us by paying a monthly stipend for four child carers who cannot be paid with the money from the Department of Social Development.  In addition, SI-Pretoria offers activities such as reading, painting, and development play to children that attend the St. Francis Drop-in Centre on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  In 2014 they revamped an old house to build a library for our beneficiaries and the members of the church of St. Francis.

University of South Africa (UNISA)

UNISA is the most important partner for our “Breaking the Cycle of Poverty” program. Together with the Department of Psychology of Education Tateni empowers our carers and beneficiaries, including orphans, vulnerable children and unemployed youth through education, guidance and counseling, and psychological assistance.

Reach for a Dream Foundation

The Reach for a Dream Foundation encourages children to use their dreams to fight life-threatening illnesses, giving hope to children through the fulfillment of their dreams.  They offer various programs, camps and activities and invite our beneficiaries to attend, trying to offer them a happy and hopeful time.
